takealytics has identified 1,400 restaurants which have re-opened on Deliveroo this month. 850 of which re-opened today (Monday 17th May).
Many restaurants have been unable to open during national lockdowns with the decision that a takeaway only offering would not be sufficient to enable them to continue to run their business over this time. Many restaurants re-opened when restriction changes enabled outside dining. However, for restaurants with no outside dining space they have been long awaiting today's change in restrictions.
Of the 850 restaurants that re-opened today, the majority of which (501), were last open in December, with over 200 last open before then.

As shown in takealytics Platform Share Report, Deliveroo has suffered the most over the last 6 months with its heartland being in the Casual Dining Sector.
Whilst Deliveroo has continued to grow its venue offering up 8.2% between Nov '20 and Apr '21, it is considerably lower than that of Just Eat (up 13.5%) and Uber Eats (up 30.4%) and now has less venues on offer on the platform than the other two aggregators and as a result has seen a drop in its share of venues.

With the re-opening of the Casual Dining Sector takealytics expects to see Deliveroo increase its share of venues. Find out more in our next Platform Share Report.
Today is an extremely positive and long awaited day for the Hospitality sector, both for restaurants re-opening their dine-in offering as well as increased coverage and offering within the delivery aggregators.
