Following Deliveroo’s recent announcement of expanding its coverage to 100 new UK towns over the course of 2021, takealytics gives viability of the new restaurant launches this year.
The takeaway delivery business has seen a surge in demand over the past 12 months as customers stayed at home due to the pandemic.
Deliveroo said its expansion strategy will reach another four million potential customers.
Deliveroo currently operates in over 200 locations and said it will also expand its reach from these existing sites over the year.
takealytics has seen that Deliveroo has launched 4,429 new restaurants across the country in 2021. 2,796 of which were in February.
It has also expanded its coverage into 9 new towns. This includes:
Telford
Bridgend
Rushden
Dorchester
Runcorn
East Kilbride
Corby
Yeovil
Widnes
Most of which had Just Eat and Uber Eats coverage before.
Whilst 178 other towns are seeing an average 8% increase in venues available in their area Below are the towns which Deliveroo has had most growth in 2021 so far.
Deliveroo Brand Growth
From a brand perspective the biggest change to Deliveroo's coverage has been the launch of Costa Coffee with 540 new outlets.
Coco di Mama have also seen significant expansion with 75 new locations launched this year to date.
