We recently talked about the launch of sortable hero images in Grid Builder in our September 24 update. This improvement has already helped streamline the process of identifying brands using incorrect or outdated imagery across various platforms. By making hero images sortable, it becomes much quicker to review content and pinpoint issues, allowing for a more efficient way to ensure consistency in branding across multiple listings.
But that’s not all - our latest enhancement brings another powerful feature to the table. We are now storing hero images historically. This means you can look back and see what imagery was previously being displayed for any given venue.
Promotions and seasonal imagery often appear in hero images, and having the ability to track how these visuals evolve over time is incredibly valuable. Currently, we have about two weeks of historical data stored, but this will grow as time goes on.

Competitor Analysis: With historical hero image tracking, you can now keep a closer eye on your competitors’ promotional strategies. If they change their hero image to promote a special offer or seasonal campaign, you’ll be able to review these adjustments, providing deeper insights into their marketing tactics.
Ensuring Image Accuracy: For supermarket or restaurant brands this tool is invaluable for ensuring that aggregator platforms are displaying the correct imagery. If you’ve agreed on a change to your hero image, you can now verify whether it was updated accurately and on time. This helps ensure consistency across your listings, reducing any chances of outdated or incorrect visuals being shown to customers.
As we continue to expand our historical data storage, you’ll soon have access to an even richer archive of images.
