With Storm Eunice battering the UK, Deliveroo and Uber Eats have reduced their delivery offering to protect their riders. As a result only restaurants which have their own riders are operational across the majority of the south of the UK.
A message on the Deliveroo app in those areas which have been suspended reads:
"We'll be back delivering again when it's safe to do so"
"In the interest of keeping riders safe, our service is not available at the moment due to a red weather warning. We'll be available again as soon as it's safe to do so"
Takealytics data captured at 13:30 today shows that cities in the north continue to have around 87% of restaurants open as usual with riders still available, whilst those which are in the red weather warning areas have been suspended with cities such as
Brighton, Dover, Plymouth, Southampton, St Albans and Windsor
having no Deliveroo riders operating. A similar story is seen on Uber Eats.
The heat map below details restaurant availability across the country. Those in blue are offline whilst those in red are available as at 13:30. Click to zoom and pan the map.
